2 Funny!

July 28, 2009

This is from Grist’s mock facebook page for Steve Chu:
You’re the flipping Secretary of Energy. Your vocabulary has moved beyond Sarah’s staples of “Drill, Baby, Drill” and “Nu-cu-lar.” You understand that geothermal is not something you dress your kid in out of an L.L. Bean catalogue. You may be drinking the clean energy Kool-Aid, but it’s all cool because like we said before, you’re the effing Energy Secretary.

That is too funny, especially since the Dept of Energy is heavily promoting Steven Chu’s real facebook page right now.

That’s hilarious! It reminds me of when there was a deluge of Bush knowledge quizzes. I hope someone makes more of these. At least we have a president in office that actually seems to know what he’s
doing. Imagine the nightmare if Palin was in as VP…

Dr. Chu proposed painting roofs and other surfaces white to reflect solar radiation and thereby mitigate the effects of global warming.

According to Chu, successful implementation of this approach could provide a climate benefit equivalent to sequestering eleven years of vehicle emissions from all sources.

Chu’s proposal seems to be more pragmatic, economical, and technically feasible when compared to the various cap & trade schemes. However, this proposal offers no guarantee that it would actually reduce global atmospheric temperature if successfully implemented.
